Bedford Greenacre Independent School is to expand to a new 40-acre site following multi-million pound funding package from HSBC

The Bedfordshire based school, currently on just half an acre, will increase its student capacity by 100 to 690 for the 2024 Autumn term.

The move to larger premises will mean new employment across all areas of the school, including teaching, administration, cleaning, caretaking, and catering.

The expansion will feature a modern design and will occupy a hill-top to the north of the town.

The increase will allow the school to install sports facilities such a 3G football pitch as well as an amphitheatre to promote physical and cultural education.

The new facilities will also be available to the wider community, ensuring the new school plays a central role in providing athletic and cultural activities more widely in the local area.

Headteacher Ian Daniel said: “We want to deliver a world class education and school experience to our pupils. The funding from HSBC UK, combined with the fantastic support we have received from our relationship manager at the bank, Suzanne Wright, ensures that, not only will our students get an inspiring experience, but the community in which we are a part of will also benefit greatly.”
