Medical logistics company Medequip has signed for a new 31,000 sq ft unit at Horizon 120 Business & Innovation Park, in Braintree, Essex.

The company has agreed a seven-year lease on Unit 2 Hyperion, one of three units at the 160,000 sq ft speculative development scheme, which was forward funded by CBRE Investment Management and developed by the Marshgate Group.

In its entirety, Horizon 120 business park provides in excess of 750,000 sq ft of hi-tech, industrial, office and logistics space.

Knight Frank and Coke Gearing acted for CBRE Investment Management, the landlord.

Property consultancy MK2 Real Estate provided lease consultancy advice to Medequip.

Matt Ward, marketing manager at Medequip, said: “This is a prime location with excellent access and modern facilities, enabling us to provide first class community equipment services for the people of Essex.”

Tendai Mutisi, from MK2 Real Estate, said: “The contract with Essex County Council meant Medequip needed to expand its operations and we’re pleased to have facilitated the company in securing the unit.”

Paul Mussi, partner in Knight Frank’s logistics and industrial team, said: “This is a ‘best in class’ logistics/industrial development situated in a unique countryside setting, close to the A120. The swift letting of Unit 2 and the fact that we have serious interest in Unit 3 underpins our original conviction to speculatively build in this location. We are delighted to welcome Medequip who are providing essential services to the local community.”
