Attic Self Storage, with guidance from Montagu Evans, has received approval from the London Borough of Lambeth to develop a new self-storage facility in Battersea.

This site, located on Clyston Street in an industrial area near Wandsworth Road, will be Attic’s twelfth location, offering over 6,000 sqm of storage space across a 4-6-storey building.

The design includes renewable energy features, a green roof, and sustainable drainage, aiming for BREEAM Excellent certification. Established in 2008, Attic currently operates eight storage facilities across London, with three more under construction.

Robin Vaughan, development director at Attic, expressed pride in contributing to Lambeth’s redevelopment and meeting local storage needs. Montagu Evans, the planning consultant, also provided Townscape and socio-economic advice.

Kirill Malkin, a partner at Montagu Evans, highlighted the strategic importance of the location, noting the project will transform an underused brownfield site into a sustainable, high-quality facility that integrates with the area and addresses local demand.

The collaboration between Attic and Lambeth Council is seen as a model for delivering exemplary developments.
