Gardiner and Theobald LLP (G&T) have announced their involvement in refurbishing The Ark in Hammersmith.

The refurbishment of Hammersmith’s iconic building, The Ark, aims to provide high-quality office space and is targeting BREEAM “Excellent” to ensure that this locally Listed building continues to be fully utilised and remains one of Hammersmith’s architectural gems.

The project places end-users at the heart of the scheme. It will include improved landscaping and entrance to unlock an additional area, a new reception and café space to enhance the building’s amenity offering, refurbished roof terraces, a new cycle store, gym and changing facilities.

The project involves liaisons with TfL as it has assets close by. The building will have two tenants remaining during the refurbishment adding to the project’s complexity.

G&T’s engagement is from RIBA Stage1 through to delivery, the procurement and delivery of the strip out works using a Minor Works contract, liaison with the local authority for obtaining planning permission, and procurement of the main works on a Design & Build contract basis.
