​Hounslow Planning Committee has unanimously approved the redevelopment of the site known as Mr Lemon Car Wash, adjacent to 1 Spring Corner, Hanworth, into a mixed-use development. 

The application is for permission to demolish the existing car wash and redevelop the site to provide a three-storey mixed-use building. The building would comprise a ground-floor retail premises (376m square metres) and six flats on the first and second floors. The residential part would consist of four one-bedroom (two-person occupied) flats and two two-bedroom (four-person occupied) flats. 

The development would include an associated servicing bay, vehicle crossover to the High Street, car and cycle parking, amenity areas, and landscaping following the demolition of the existing buildings.

The development reduces carbon by 63 per cent site-wide through a fabric-first approach, sustainable construction practices, and maximising the use of roofs to generate on-site electricity via solar PV panels.
