Dozens of objections including from a town council have been made over plans for up to 200 homes and care home of up to 80 beds in Thatcham.
Around 40 people have objected to Croudace Homes’ plans for the development of a site between Bowling Green Road, Heath Lane and Cold Ash Hill called Henwick Park.
And Thatcham Town Council has published its objections, stating: “There is a severe deficit of infrastructure for the residents of the town and surrounding villages.
“The town council therefore objects to the approval of any further significant developments until this deficit has been addressed.”
Resident have objected, largely over pressure on local infrastructure, traffic, flooding and environmental concerns, with some suggesting the scheme is not supported by the Neighbourhood Development Plan nor the Local Plan.
Opponents fear the loss of the gap between Thatcham and Cold Ash.
Croudace Homes has declined to comment.
