Ainscough Strategic Land has submitted plans for a development of up to 320 homes on the former Marsworth Airfield at Aylesbury.

The 13.72-hectare site falls largely within the Aylesbury Vale area of Buckinghamshire Council. However, 2.61 hectares is in the Dacorum Borough Council area in Hertfordshire.

Ainscough’s planning application includes a primary school, which would take up half a hectare but could expand to 1.1 hectares, local centre and hubs for rural enterprise and transport mobility.

The scheme, which will be known as Upper Wellington, involves the southern section of the airfield which was used by RAF Cheddington until 1952. The application seeks to demolish barracks and hangars which remain on the site.

The team on the project includes Turley, EDP, Tyler Grange, Logika noise and air quality consultants, Cotswold Archaeology and MPC.
