The site is located on Bath Road and has not been occupied since 2023. The last previous occupiers were Owen White Solicitors.
Darul Madinah School is the applicant, looking to renovate the three-storey building into an independent school, the ground floor will be used for a reception, and staff offices, whilst the first and second floors will be used for classrooms, with the existing cellular offices being refurbished and repurposed to accommodate for this.
The school would require two part-time and nine full-time members of staff onsite, with opening hours of 8:15 to 3:30pm for pupils, staggered drop-off and pick-up times from Salthill Park would be employed in order to avoid traffic congestion, as according to application documents parents would be unable to drop their children off directly at the school, therefore two minibuses would be used to achieve the necessary transport of pupils.
Documents have been submitted such as a noise assessment, and an air quality assessment report, however no decision has been made yet concerning the planning application.
