Plans have been submitted to redevelop land around the edges of a garden centre at Kidlington for mixed-use scheme including more than 120 homes.

Newcore Capital Management has applied to Cherwell District Council for outline permission to develop some of the space on the perimeter of Yarnton Home & Garden’s five-hectare site and reconfigure the garden centre.

The scheme includes development of:

  • 10 two-storey houses
  • New access off Begbroke Hill
  • A 90-space nursery
  • A 120-unit retirement living scheme over two – four storeys

It will mean the garden centre will get new, partly decked, car parking of 270 spaces. The new access road off Begbroke Hill will serve both the garden centre and retirement complex.

The team on the project includes Carter Jonas on planning, Redmore Environmental as air contamination consultant, Taylor Consulting Engineers as civil engineering consultant, ERS Consultants as sustainability & energy consultant and HVJ Transport as transport consultant. Tate+Co is the architect.
