Plans for a police logistics hub in Thatcham have been recommended for approval.

West Berkshire Council’s Eastern area planning committee meets on Wednesday, May 8 with the plans by Thames Valley Police (TVP) the only application on the agenda.

TVP applied, via Atkins, to build a three-storey, 7,800 sq m building on 4.2 hectares of agricultural land east of Goddards Road and No 2 Gables Way, next to the Colthrop Industrial Estate.

It will include offices, labs and a yard and will have a separate garage and storage building of 1,300 sq m.

Grounds around the buildings will be landscaped with new trees and other hedgerows and plants.

The application proposes 349 parking spaces plus 20 for visitors. There will be 37 EV charging points which can be increased to 97. There will be around 60 cycle parking spaces.
