The RFU is consulting on the future uses of the Allianz Stadium, previously known as Twickenham Stadium with a view to developing the stadium in the future.
Currently the stadium is restricted to limited to hosting only three concerts per year with reduced capacity and limitations. The RFU wish to increase revenue from its main asset and would like to increase this to fifteen per year,
They are consulting with communities nearby, Richmond and Hounslow Councils, Transport for London and other stakeholders. The RFU has engaged the London Communications Agency to administer the consultation.
Wembley Stadium can host up to eight additional events every year after Brent Council’s Planning Committee approved proposals from the Football Association (FA) 11 September 2024. The national stadium, which marked its 100th anniversary this year, now has approval to host up to 54 non-sporting events each year.
The plans being considered for the Allianz Stadium including reducing capacity to increase seating space and support for a train connection to Old Oak Common.
