Wandsworth Council planning has approved an amendment to the planning submission for plots P & Q of the Springfield Village development. 

Changes agreed include the introduction of basement level and lower ground floor rear patios to Plot P and Q houses; adjusted roof design to Plot P and Q semi-detached houses; new and altered doors and windows to Plot P and Q houses; adjustments to landscaping to the rear of Plot P and Q houses; footprint of first and second floor levels of Plot F houses increased by 1125mm rearwards to be in line with ground floor footprint.

In January 2020, South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust announced it had secured government approval to redevelop Springfield University Hospital.

The Trust entered into a contract with STEP as master developer for delivering its Estate Modernisation Programme and creating Springfield Village. The programme will provide new mental health NHS facilities at the Springfield University Hospital in Tooting as part of the first development phase.

Springfield Village will also deliver a community park, associated road network, infrastructure and energy solution; restored listed buildings and high-quality new housing.

Springfield Village includes 839 new homes, a new school, 32-acre park and new public health facilities.
