The Greater Cambridge Partnership’s (GCP) Executive Board was scheduled to review and reach a decision on the Outline Business Case for the Cambourne to Cambridge scheme tomorrow, Wednesday 19th February.

It was announced yesterday, Monday 17th February by Mayor James Palmer that The Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority have taken control of public transport improvements in the Cambourne to Cambridge area.

GCP report that they have worked with the Combined Authority on this scheme and at all points the Combined Authority has confirmed that their work has been consistent with the Mayor’s plans for the Cambridgeshire Autonomous Metro.

GCP said: “However, in response to the Mayor’s recent comments in the media, the GCP Executive Board has taken the decision to defer the planned decision on the Cambourne to Cambridge scheme to a future meeting whilst seeking an urgent meeting to discuss a way forward.”

To keep up to date with the latest news the GCP website and stakeholders will be updated with the latest information regarding Board meeting dates here www.greatercambridge.org.uk.
