The former House of Fraser department store at 80 George Street, Richmond, undergoing a major refurbishment by Shene Lane Developments, has signed its first tenants.

As intended in the original plans, a gym has been included in the refit. Third Space, a luxury West London gym brand, has taken 30.000 sq ft in the basement.

Sticks ’n’ Sushi, a Danish- Japanese style restaurant, has taken a 5,000 sq ft place on the ground floor. Including another leading restaurant will add to Richmond’s growing reputation as a centre for culinary excellence.

Rumours also surround the future of Waterstones on the corner of George Street, with plans to move to 80 George Street and another upmarket restaurant moving in.

Richmond BID has welcomed the announcement and looks forward to further announcements on improvements to the town centre.
