Carter Jonas has sold a residential development site near Witney on behalf of Leda Properties.
The 2.69-acre site off Giernalls Road, in Hailey, north of the town, has been acquired by Sovereign Housing Association after a competitive tender process.
Acting as planning consultant, Carter Jonas originally secured outline permission for up to nine private homes on the site. That established the principle of development across the site and, under the terms of a conditional sale agreement, Sovereign has since secured full permission for a scheme of 22 affordable homes.
James Cordery, partner for Carter Jonas, said: “We have been working with Sovereign on this site for over two years and we are very pleased to have helped facilitate the delivery of much needed affordable homes in this area.”
Joanna Smith, development manager for Sovereign, said: “We’re delighted to have acquired the site at Hailey, which paves the way for work to start on site. The homes being built will be sustainable, energy efficient and affordable – and help to address the growing demand for housing at a time of real need.”
