Plans for two new science buildings at the Harwell Campus go before councillors on Wednesday (April 5) with a recommendation for approval.

Harwell Science and Innovation has applied to build a 4,173 sq m R&D building along with a manufacturing facility of 9,509 sq m. The scheme, named Project Resilience, is designed for vaccine development.

Vale of White Horse District Council’s planning committee has been recommended to approve the application subject to conditions and a legal agreement securing offsite highway works and financial contributions towards public transport and travel plan monitoring.

The 3.98-hectare site comprises grassland, a sports pitch and sections of a former runway at the one-time airbase.

The team on the project includes Scott Brownrigg as architect and Carter Jonas on planning.
