Plans for a 34.83-hectare solar farm near Andover have been recommended for approval.

BSR Energy’s proposals to set up the solar array at Lower Wyke Farm at St Mary Bourne go before Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council’s development control committee on June 25.

According to the applicant, the array, which is split across three fields, would provide electricity to power 7,252 family homes.

The application seeks permission for 40 years and states ‘the solar farm would be removed after this period of time, if it is no longer required’.

The team on the project includes Planning Developments on planning, EDP on heritage and archaeology and Key Transport Consultants on transport.
