Spelthorne Borough Council has issued a formal notice under Section 123(1) of the Local Government Act 1972 proposing to sell, by freehold disposal, a parcel of open space land to the south of Bedfont Road, Stanwell, Staines-upon-Thames, TW19 7LE.
The notice schedule describes the land as measuring approximately 10,705 square metres, and the accompanying plan shows it edged red. Because the site is used for public recreation, the council is inviting written objections before proceeding with the sale.
Objections must be submitted in writing to the Group Head of Corporate Governance at the council offices in Knowle Green, Staines-upon-Thames, and must be received by midday on 4 September 2026. The notice states that the council’s appropriate officers or members will consider objections. The plan and notice documents are available online and at the council offices by appointment.
The notice also connects this land to wider development proposals, including the Feltham Logistics Hub and related planning frameworks.
These wider plans involve parts of the former gravel pit and landfill area near Bedfont Road, including uses such as open storage, green space improvements, and land for Travelling Show people, alongside broader logistics and housing/traveller accommodation objectives.
