Savills has added to its residential sales team in Hertfordshire with the appointment of a new director to lead its Rickmansworth office.
Steven Spencer has more than 25 years’ experience across the property sector, having most recently led the Gerrards Cross office for Strutt and Parker in Buckinghamshire.
Previously he worked for independent estate agency Roberts Newby, where he was an equity partner and subsequently sold the company to Strutt & Parker in 2015.
In his new role as head of Savills Rickmansworth, he takes over from Peter Everett who will continue in a consultancy role.
Steven said: “I know the area very well, having gone to school at Merchant Taylors’ School and then living in Rickmansworth and Chorleywood from the early 2000s until around 2010, so the move feels very much like a natural transition.
“Savills has a strong network of offices in Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire and I’m excited to be a part of what is already a very experienced team with a successful track record. The Rickmansworth office has had a good start to the year and I’m looking forward to building on that and using my own experiences to help drive future growth.”
He sees a little more momentum in the way the local property market is performing and notes a greater degree of optimism.
He added: “With interest rates appearing to have stabilised and mortgage costs also beginning to come down there is more confidence among both buyers and sellers – albeit the market is still price sensitive. We have some very good instructions in the pipeline and we are expecting good levels of activity throughout the spring and summer.”
