A full planning application, for the change of use from offices into 111 apartments, for Block C County Hall, Taunton, has been approved at Tuesday’s Somerset Council Planning Committee meeting.

The vote for approval was unanimous, and is subject to the following conditions:

  • Prior completion of a Section 106 Agreement
  • Conditions set out in the committee report, and delegation of authority to the chief planning officer, in consultation with the chair of the planning committee where appropriate, in order to:
  1. Make minor amendments to wording, numbering and sequencing of planning conditions
  2. Agree minor variations to the heads of terms and final drafting of the Section 106 Agreement
  3. Amend conditions where necessary to secure compliance with national and local planning policy
  4. Potentially refuse the application where the applicant has failed to progress the Section 106 Agreement within six months of the committee’s resolution.
