Taylor Wimpey has released the first video and images showing progress at Wisley Acres, a major new community under construction on the former Wisley Airfield site in Ockham, Surrey.
The development will eventually provide 1,730 homes, supported by community facilities and wider infrastructure intended to meet local housing needs.
The first phase, called Stratford View, is due to launch this summer, with work on the neighbourhood already well underway. Of the total homes, 40 per cent (692) will be affordable rent or purchase, alongside new green spaces and amenities designed to create a sustainable place to live, work, learn and play.
A key feature of the scheme is the 45-hectare Three Leys Park, which will open before any residents move in. Ground preparation has been completed, and tree and meadow planting is set to begin this month ahead of a planned late-autumn opening. The park will form part of a wider green network through the development, which is expected to deliver a 20 per cent biodiversity net gain, double the national policy requirement.
Other plans include a Three Leys Visitor Centre with a café and community space, due to start in July. Taylor Wimpey says the project is now visibly taking shape, with homes rising from the ground and major milestones scheduled throughout the year, including a school planning application, completion of the roundabout, first home sales, completion of the energy centre, the park opening, and the arrival of the first residents by year-end.
Notable milestones for the Wisley Acres development this year include:*
- New school planning application submission – spring
- Wisley Lane roundabout completion – spring / summer
- First homes go on sale – summer
- Energy centre completion – summer
- Three Leys Park opens – late autumn
- First residents move in – end of the year
