Richmond Council leader Cllr Gareth Roberts has announced the commencement of pre-construction works on the Twickenham Riverside development.

Keir, a reputable construction company, has been appointed to undertake the construction of redeveloping Twickenham Riverside and providing a brand-new heart for Twickenham.

Cllr Roberts announced the news on YouTube and X, saying;

“Good news. After years of delay and millions of pounds of additional expense caused by the unnecessary task of having to go for a compulsory purchase order to acquire the Diamond Jubilee Gardens, we are now able to start work on Twickenham Riverside.”

Work will start in the next few months, and the council is committed to maintaining its engagement with residents, ensuring that their voices are heard and their concerns addressed throughout the process.

Hoardings setting out the vision for Twickenham Riverside have been placed around the derelict buildings, and the shops for demolition on King Street are closing down.
