Two solar farms on land totalling 170 hectares in Hook have been recommended for approval.

Clearstone Energy’s plans, submitted by DLP Planning, are for a 95.47-hectare site at Chosley Farm in Bidden Road, North Warnborough, while JBM Solar Projects 18’s plans, submitted via Pegasus, are for another on 70 hectares at Bunkers Hill Farm, Reading Road, Rotherwick.

Both go before Hart District Council’s planning committee on Wednesday, November 10 and officers recommend approval for each. However, both schemes have prompted numerous objections, many over loss of countryside and views.

Each scheme proposes permission for 40 years and a maximum output of 49.9mw to be exported to the National Grid.
