The development of 125 new homes for Brent residents reached a milestone moment on Thursday 21 November.
The ‘topping out’ ceremony of Watling Gardens, was marked with an event attended by Brent Council leader Muhammed Butt, and award-winning developers The Hill Group and the Sovereign Network Group.
There will be 80 one, two and three-bedroom homes available for affordable rent. Additionally, there will be 45 one-bedroom flats designed to support independent living as part of Brent’s New Accommodation for Independent Living (NAIL) project. The homes are specifically designed to meet the needs of vulnerable residents, featuring communal spaces, a lounge, activity rooms and landscaped front and back gardens. Residents will also benefit from the assistance of care staff.
Councillor Muhammed Butt, leader of Brent Council said: “I am incredibly proud of the remarkable progress we’ve made since breaking ground. This milestone is a monumental achievement, bringing us one step closer to delivering brand new, much-needed homes to Brent families. This area has already seen significant investment and regeneration, transforming it into a vibrant and sustainable community. We can’t wait to welcome our new residents soon. “
Michael Turner, regional director at The Hill Group, commented: “Reaching the topping-out milestone at Watling Gardens marks significant progress in delivering modern, energy-efficient homes tailored to Brent’s diverse housing needs. At The Hill Group, we’re proud to partner with Brent Council and the Sovereign Network Group to create high-quality, affordable homes alongside innovative spaces that foster independent living. We look forward to welcoming residents to this transformative, community-focused development.”
The modern, energy efficient homes are set to be completed by February 2026.
