Plans are being drawn up for 150 homes and a 75-bed care home on land at Sherfield-on-Loddon.

Boyer, on behalf of Mactaggart and Mickel Homes England, has applied to Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council for a screening opinion on whether an environmental impact assessment (EIA) is needed for the developer’s plans for Goddards Farm, a 13.4-hectare site off the A33 close to the junction with Reading Road (central darker field in image).

The homes will include an affordable housing proportion of 40 per cent. Neither the homes, nor the care home will be above 2.5 storeys and an additional community building is planned along with public open space. Access will be off Reading Road.

The Boyer report concludes that an EIA would not be required.
