A stunning 16th Century former home has gone on the market with Campbell Gordon.

Yateley Hall in Hampshire, currently used as offices by marketing services provider Outbound which will be moving out, is a Grade ll* listed building being marketed for sale or let.

But Campbell Gordon director Duncan Campbell says the 25,000 sq ft building, set in six acres of grounds, is unlikely to remain as offices since modern occupiers want town centres or motorway junctions rather than isolated locations.

He believes the building, which is in Hart District Council area, is ripe for conversion to residential, but care and education uses are possible, although a sensitive approach will be needed.

He said: “It’s such a unique, handsome building and it’s really interesting. We’ve had some really significant interest from all sorts of people. People are really responding to its character. There just aren’t many around like this these days.”

Part of a moat, built to protect a previous home on the site, remains. The current building was converted to a school in 1947 and offices in 1985.
