20,000 sq m industrial scheme for Theale

A plan for 20,000 sq m of industrial development is being drawn up for a site at Theale.

A screening opinion request by Turley, on behalf of developer Panattoni, has been submitted to West Berkshire Council over the need for an Environmental Impact Assessment for a 5.37-hectare site close to J12 of the M4.

The site is at the end of Theale High Street and access to the A4 and M4 will be via Hoad Way.

The developer’s preliminary description of the scheme states ‘Outline planning permission for up to 20,000 sq m of commercial floorspace comprising B1(c) (light industry appropriate in a residential area), B2 (general industrial) and B8 (storage & distribution) floorspace along with associated access (all other matters reserved)’.

An outline application is being planned.
