An outline planning application for up to 350 dwellings at land North of Oldbury Lane, Thornbury, will be heard at a South Gloucestershire Council Strategic Sites Delivery Committee meeting this Thursday.
All matters of the application are reserved except for site access, which requires the construction of a new vehicular access from Oldbury Lane.
The application seeks outline permission for the demolition of existing structures upon the site, and construction of a phased development of up to 350 dwellings, a community hub, alongside a flexible use land parcel for later living & care accommodation, and land for the delivery of renewable energy generation.
The site is comprised of approximately 183,000 sq m, sat outside of the Green belt and the Thornbury boundary. It is made up of an area of former orchard, with some remnant trees, in addition to a number of fields used for pasture and hay.
A number of preexisting public footpaths cross the site in all directions and connect to urban areas and the local lane network.
