Plans for up to 350 homes near Basingstoke have been revealed in a screening opinion request.

Miller Homes’ request to Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council, through Savills, asks whether an environmental impact assessment (EIA) is needed for its plans to develop 15.66-hectare Sherfield Hill Farm.

The site is east of the A33, directly opposite the entrance to Taylor’s Farm and the Sherfield Park development.

The submission notes that a previous screening request over an application for 200 homes on the southern section of the site found there was no requirement for an EIA.

As well as the proposed homes, which will include 40 per cent affordable properties, the scheme involves a mobility hub, access, parking, pedestrian and cycle routes, green infrastructure and landscaping.
