LNT Care Developments plans a 66-bed car home to replace a car park in Aldershot.
The Leeds-based developer has applied to Rushmoor Borough Council to build the three-storey care home, with car parking and landscaping, at the 1.3-acre site in Ordinance Road.
The scheme envisaged for the unallocated, brownfield site includes two forms of care, general residential and residential dementia and the building will be split to accommodate both.
Rooms are designed to be larger than minimum requirements with communal areas almost double the required size. Around 60 new jobs will result from the scheme.
The application’s design and access statement concludes: “The development would bring economic benefits by creating employment and economic activity, both during construction and in the long-term operation of the home.”
