The scheme involves the redevelopment of the Strathmore Centre site on Strathmore Road in Teddington. It currently contains a single storey nursery to the rear, which is occupied by Scamps Nursery, and several standalone buildings that are vacant, having previously been occupied as a Youth Offending Centre.

The application is for the demolition of all existing buildings, the erection of 2 three-storey buildings comprising 30 residential dwellings, the erection of a single-storey nursery building, alterations to the existing access road and 35 no. car parking spaces (plus one car club bay) and associated landscaping, communal amenity space, cycle and refuse storage.

The planning officer has recommended approval by the committee at the meeting on the 7th of October 2020. This is despite some vigorous local campaigning against the scheme.

The contemporary design is expected to enhance the local area, providing an improved nursery and the provision of a pocket park for use by residents.
