The first drafts of how development at Swindon Town’s County Ground might look have been published by the club’s supporters’ trust.
Swindon Borough Council’s cabinet has voted to approve the sale of the ground to a joint venture between the club and its fans called County Ground Stadium Custodians Trust Ltd.
As part of the deal, a phased £22.5 million programme of work will begin in 2024 with redevelopment of the Stratton Bank, followed by corporate boxes being added to the Don Rogers Stand between 2024 and 2027 and the £20m new Town End conference centre and hotel being added between 2026 and 2027.
A report to the annual meeting of supporters’ trust TrustSTFC on Wednesday, March 23 revealed the first draft images, see above and below.
The trust says the deal will ensure the future of the County Ground, enable investment and development of both the stadium and the area around it.
