Cala Homes has promoted chartered surveyor Freddie Webber to managing director for its Thames regional business.

The former land director has more than 13 years’ experience in the property sector and has been key to Cala’s growth in the region.

He said: “The Thames business has an ambitious growth plan, and I am delighted to be entrusted to deliver on it.

“The strength of our sales rate in 2023 has enabled us to exchange or complete on seven new sites with the potential to deliver up to 1,100 homes, including prime residential land on Ascot High Street and our first acquisition in Wimborne, Dorset.

“Our team is keen to build on this success and are actively looking for similar high quality investment opportunities in Hampshire, Wiltshire, West Surrey, Berkshire and Dorset.”

Last year alone Cala’s Thames team secured planning for around 1,500 homes across sites in Weybridge, Crowthorne, Basingstoke, Ashford, Burridge and Finchampstead.

Mr Webber added: “Key to achieving our growth plan is our people, and my focus will be on supporting and developing the great talent we have within our 190-strong team, who are collectively delivering Cala Thames’ success.”

Andrew Wagstaff, regional chair at Cala, said: “The Thames team has delivered a strong period of land acquisition and successful planning which will underpin their business growth plan. Freddie has already demonstrated his leadership capability throughout this.

“He is perfectly placed to build upon the strong position the team has nurtured in recent years and to continue momentum into a further exciting phase of growth for the Cala business.”
