Chelsea Football Club owners Clearlake Capital have submitted to Hammersmith Council plans for the first steps in revamping Stamford Bridge.

The plans are for new video screens, advertising hoardings and club logos on various stands. The council are seeking comments from residents by the end of August 2022.

The architects for this phase are DAIQ, an American firm that has worked on many baseball stadiums, including Fenway Park, Boston.

It is suggested that Architect Janet Marie Smith is working on completely transforming the stadium for its new owners. She has previously worked on the LA Dodgers stadium owned by Ted Boehly.

The plans for a 60,000 seater stadium were shelved because of an unfavourable economic environment, previously covered here.

The new owners have promised to invest £1.75 billion in the stadium and the foundation over several years.
