Dan Channer has been appointed managing director of Haslams Group.
At the same time Steve Woodford moves from managing director to executive chairman of the group which incorporates both Haslams Estate Agents and Michael Hardy brands.
The long-standing residential estate agent and Thames Tap partner, which operates in sales of new and secondhand homes and lettings, including BTR, across the Greater Reading area, sees the appointment as a key move in its aspirations for growth.
Mr Channer spent 10 years at Finders Keepers where he oversaw a total overhaul of the business, resulting in it twice winning the Sunday Times Letting Agent of the Year, a National Training Award and Negotiator Mag’s Employer of the Year, before leading its sale to Countrywide.
Mr Woodford said: “Dan is the perfect fit for this role and for the Haslams Group. We were established over 185 years ago and today we are still recognised as one of the best and most innovative agencies anywhere in the UK.
“Whilst we invest in marketing and proptech, our core foundations are built upon us providing a positive and progressive working environment where happy staff can deliver great customer service. Dan has an impressive track record of growing businesses founded upon these same core principles and so the business is in safe hands as it moves forward.”
Mr Channer said: “Steve and the team have built something special and it is a privilege to take up the group managing director role. The Haslams Group is similar to what Finders Keepers was: held in huge respect, superb levels of talent and an entrepreneurial owner who has raised the bar in professionalism and innovation.
“I look forward to growing Haslams Estate Agents and Michael Hardy and nurturing what is the best agency environment to work for in the market.”
