Hawridge Strategic Land has applied for permission for up to 120 homes in Beaconsfield.
The land promoter has submitted plans to Buckinghamshire Council for permission to build on a 5.99-hectare Green Belt site off Broad Lane in Holtspur between the M40 and the A40.
Homes will have up to four bedrooms and 40 per cent will be affordable while a further five per cent will be self-build for locals.
The scheme’s planning statement produced by Iceni Projects argues that the scheme’s benefits outweigh its harm and that it meets the ‘very special circumstances’ required to gain permission for Green Belt development through a number of points.
They include:
- Positive contribution towards housing land supply and delivery
- Significant contribution towards affordable housing needs
- Meeting a need for self-build plots
- The need for Green Belt development in the South Bucks area of Buckinghamshire
- The sustainability of the location
- The provision of public open space
- Sustainability benefits
Architect on the scheme is LDA Design.
