Savills has appointed Luke Richardson as head of its residential lettings business for Reading and Newbury.

Mr Richardson started his property career in London before moving to the Home Counties in 2018. He went onto work for national firms Chancellors and Haart and later joined independent Reading-based agency Prospect, before moving to Savills in 2021.

Savills, which established its residential lettings department in Reading in 2018 has since expanded into Newbury with Mr Richardson’s help.

He said: “I am proud to have been promoted to head up our fast-growing team. Reading is a hugely exciting and fast-paced market, within which we have established a well-performing business over the last five years.

“Our expansion into Newbury was a natural move, given the close ties between the two towns, and I look forward to building our presence here, in partnership with our well-established residential sales office.”

Gordon Hood, who oversees Savills’ lettings business across the wider Home Counties region, said: “In a relatively short period of time, Luke has progressed from a negotiator to assistant manager, and now I am delighted to announce his appointment as head of residential lettings for Reading and Newbury.

“We have seen impressive new business growth over the last year in particular and as the market in the area continues to develop and mature, I can see great potential.”
