Consultation is to take place over a potential new community hub development in Thatcham.
Following feedback from the 2023 Thatcham Town Centre Strategy, West Berkshire Council and Thatcham Town Council are exploring plans for the hub on the site of sports pitches in Brownsfield Road.
A feasibility study, led by Adams and Sutherland Architects and Augarde & Partners, is being funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
Drop in events have been put on at Thatcham Library:
- Tuesday, February 24, 5:30pm – 7pm
- Saturday, February 28, 12:30pm – 2pm
Cllr Justin Pemberton, executive member for economic development and regeneration for West Berkshire Council and councillor for Thatcham Town Council, said: “This is about creating something special for Thatcham – a community hub shaped by the people who will use it now and in the future.
“We want residents to tell us what would work, what’s missing and what the town really needs, from sport and wellbeing to culture, events and wider community use.
“This is a genuine opportunity to influence what happens next, and we can only achieve this with your ideas. By getting involved, you can help shape a space that brings people together, meets the needs of future generations and is something the whole town can be proud of, so let’s create our Thatcham Community Hub together.”
