Aldi is planning to open a new high-quality food store in Reigate at The Range store’s current site on Rushworth Road.

This proposal does not add new retail space as it utilises an existing retail unit. The new store aims to improve access to Aldi’s award-winning, low-cost products, enhancing customer choice and reducing the need for residents to travel to distant supermarkets.

Aldi values community involvement and has launched a virtual exhibition for public feedback from March 6th to March 22nd, 2026. Feedback will be crucial in shaping the planning application submitted to Reigate and Banstead Borough Council.

The project represents a £7 million investment and is expected to create up to 40 new jobs, offering wages above the National Living Wage. The store will provide easy access to affordable, high-quality products, allowing customers to save on their shopping without compromising quality.

Aldi plans to recruit locally to strengthen community ties and improve employees’ work-life balance. The store will stock around 1,800 core exclusive products, requiring only three to four deliveries per day, minimising disruption.

Aldi collaborates with Neighbourly to combat hunger and child food poverty, pairing local charities with stores to collect surplus food. Over 80 per cent of Aldi’s core range is sourced from British suppliers.

The proposed site is bound by Douglas Road, Reigate Station, and railway tracks to the north, and Rushworth Road to the south. The website for the proposal will remain accessible throughout the planning process.
