UK Property Forums consultant Hugh Blaza unveils our first major event of the year – OxProp Summit – to be held in conjunction with Oxford City Council.

Everyone in the Oxford property community should block out the afternoon of March 23, 2022 in their diaries.

For this is the date of our first major event of the year: the OxProp Summit. Working in partnership with Oxford City Council, we are hosting a gathering in the stunning Sultan Nazrin Shah Centre in Worcester College for anyone and everyone with an interest or a stake in what is happening in the city.

The event will not only describe the unprecedented levels of activity but also provide the wider contexts in which they are occurring.

With many top speakers confirmed for the event, OxProp Summit will:

  • Launch our Oxford Development Pipeline Directory. This will be a comprehensive publication, describing all of the most important developments in the city. We’re expecting this to be a key reference document to the changing face of Oxford and it will be regularly updated as the works progress. The publication will offer members and sponsors the opportunity to bring us news of progress and to publicise their involvement.
  • Discuss the placemaking vision for the city and how new infrastructure and in particular modes of transport will connect the city, both internally and to the immediate vicinities and beyond.
  • Examine how the tension can be reconciled between providing affordable housing, accommodating the activities which generate employment, whether commercial or research and development, and ensuring that the vision enhances the reputation of and facilities in our world-famous city.
  • Discuss how the city council will achieve the 2030 target for Oxford to become a net zero city and how the private and education sectors will help it do so. How will the developers rise to the challenges set by the council?

We are also planning to arrange a number of walking visits to schemes under (or soon to be under) construction.

As anyone who has attended other events at the venue will testify, the Sultan Nazrin Shah Centre is extremely impressive. In addition to the formal talks, there will be ample opportunities for networking during lunch, afternoon tea and the drinks reception which will round off the afternoon.

Details of the programme so far (subject to change) and booking details can be found here along with a booking form.

We are confident that everyone will leave the OxProp Summit better informed about everything that is happening in Oxford and we look forward to seeing you there.
