Waverley Borough Council has completed a £10 million affordable housing programme in Chiddingfold, delivering 26 high-quality, energy-efficient homes across five small sites.
The final 11 homes at Pathfield Close have now been handed over, bringing the project to a close after developments at Turners Mead, Pathfield, Queen’s Mead and Hartsgrove.
The scheme provides a mix of one, two and three-bedroom houses and flats for affordable rent and shared ownership, helping local people stay near family, work and support networks. The latest phase includes six homes at Pathfield A, two for shared ownership, and five homes at Pathfield B, with all five already let or due to be let soon.
Each home includes modern energy-saving features such as air source heat pumps, rooftop solar panels, EV charging points, fitted kitchens and off-street parking. The project also created 19 extra parking spaces for existing council tenants at Pathfield Close, easing local pressure and adding wider community benefit.

Councillor Janet Crowe said the programme made thoughtful use of underused land while respecting the village’s character, and thanked partners including Feltham Construction and Homes England. Homes England’s Shahi Islam said the project showed the value of partnership in delivering local housing needs. Feltham Construction also praised the collaboration and thanked residents for their patience.
Overall, the Chiddingfold programme shows how smaller schemes can combine to make a major contribution to affordable housing while regenerating land and protecting the countryside.
