A planning application seeking refurbishment of Cambridge’s Market Square has seen approval at yesterday’s Cambridge City Council planning committee meeting.
The proposal saw approval subject to conditions with three votes to two, and comes after previous deferral back in March of this year.
The proposals involve the replacement of existing stalls with a mix of permanent and removable stalls, and since March’s deferral 10 of the proposed removable stalls have been replaced with 12 permanent ones.
Alongside this there will also be refurbishment of certain listed elements, landscaping and additional cycle parking provisions.
An informative was also put in place, for the Council to work closely with market traders to ensure a high quality delivery of the proposal.
