The company behind the major Wellington Gate development in Grove near Wantage has handed over the latest tranche of homes to a local housing provider.
Persimmon Homes Wessex marked the occasion on-site with CBRE Investment Management (CBRE IM) who funded the homes, on behalf of the firm’s UK Affordable Housing Fund. The homes will be managed by Pinnacle Spaces on behalf of CBRE IM.
They were joined for the handover by local parish, district, and county councillor Ron Batstone.
35 properties on Phase Seven and 49 from the eighth parcel at the site of the former Grove Airfield will be transferred as part of the agreement between the parties. 16 have been handed over this summer on the former and six so far on the latter.
Persimmon already has outline permission for up to 1,500 homes at Wellington Gate and is seeking consent to bring up to 624 high-quality, new homes to land adjacent to its existing site.
Alongside the new homes, Persimmon has already delivered a primary school and sport pitches for the community. The new secondary school that has come forward as part of the development is due to open next month.
The housebuilder currently has a range of properties from one-bed flats to four-bed homes for sale from £189,995 at Wellington Gate.
