Wandsworth Council has granted planning permission for Application (2024/0389) at Eastwood South Estate (Toland Square) in SW15.
The project involves demolishing 33 existing garages to construct seven single-family dwellings, each two to three storeys high, complete with landscaping, refuse and cycle storage, and improved parking facilities.
Despite facing 156 objections, the council approved the proposal, highlighting its commitment to addressing housing needs. Objections raised included concerns about loss of light, parking issues, and the impact on local storage provided by the garages. The council, which is also the developer, aims to enhance the estate’s north-east corner while balancing local concerns with urban development priorities. WSP acts as the planning agent for the project.
