Law firm and Thames Tap partner Blandy & Blandy has taken the first steps in reopening its offices in Reading and Henley.

Later this month, clients will be able to have face to face meetings where necessary while the firm continues all its legal services remotely as it has since March.

Chairman Brenda Long published the following for clients and contacts:

We understand that recent months will have provided our clients and their loves ones with many challenges, both personally and professionally.

Since March, we have continued to offer a full legal advice service to both new and existing clients, with our people working remotely. From Monday 20 July 2020, we propose to adjust our approach to engaging with our clients.

We are, of course, committed to proceeding safely and in line with Government guidance, in the interests of both our clients and our colleagues. For the foreseeable future, our lawyers will continue to work remotely for much of their time, offering telephone or video appointments where they serve our clients’ needs effectively.

However, from Monday 20 July, we will be offering clients pre-arranged face to face appointments with members of our team at our offices in Reading and Henley-on-Thames, where they are required and provide the best means of us working together.

The wellbeing of our clients, contacts and colleagues is paramount and so we have embarked on a series of measures to ensure that our offices are “COVID-Secure” and that we have met the Government’s guidelines, including on social distancing. Further information on this will be available via our website in July and details will be provided to any clients or contacts prior to a scheduled appointment at our offices.

As I have said, we will, of course, also continue to advise clients via email, telephone and video conferencing. Should you need to contact your lawyer or another member of our team, please do so by email or by using your lawyer’s direct telephone number, which can be found here.

Should you experience any difficulties, please contact our main reception on 0118 951 6800 between 9.00am – 5.00pm Monday to Friday, leaving a message if asked to do so. We will respond as soon as possible and thank you in advance for your patience.

I would also like to thank our team for their hard work, dedication and professionalism during this time.

Finally, whilst we are looking forward to the future, our thoughts continue to remain with all those affected by the ongoing situation and our gratitude firmly lies with keyworkers on the frontline. We are proud that two of the charities we have supported recently have been at the forefront during the pandemic – Age UK Berkshire and The League of Friends of the Royal Berkshire Hospital. I am pleased to announce that from 1 July 2020 our colleagues have chosen to “adopt” The Royal Berks Charity and BIBS (Babies in Buscot Support), both based at the Royal Berkshire Hospital, as our chosen charities for the next two years.

Should you have any questions meanwhile, do not hesitate to contact us.
