Leading planning and design consultancy, Boyer (part of Leaders Romans Group) has announced the significant expansion of its London office by appointing two new directors.

Nick Diment and James Cogan will take up new roles as directors in Boyer’s London office in early October (Nick on 1 October and James on 7 October). Their recruitment will bring additional seniority and expertise to the growing London office, particularly in urban residential, affordable housing, asset repositioning and industrial and logistics (I&L) sectors.

Nick has over 25 years of planning experience advising both the public and private sectors across all use classes but increasing mixed-use and I&L. He previously worked for CBRE and GL Hearn and joined Knight Frank, where he was a partner.

James Cogan also joins from Knight Frank, where he was an associate director. Prior to that, he was at GL Hearn. James has over 10 years of experience delivering complex urban regeneration projects across the residential, affordable housing, mixed-use, and I&L sectors.

Commenting on the appointments, Grant Leggett, executive director of Boyer and head of the London office, said, “I am extremely happy to announce the appointment of Nick and James. Their recruitment will be a major boost to the London office in terms of leadership and a step-change move into the I&L and other sectors. Both come with significant expertise, which will enable us to continue to expand the London office in response to significant new business.”

These appointments immediately follow Boyer taking on an intake of five new Graduates across its planning and design services in September. Boyer is also actively recruiting for other consultants at various levels in most of its locations in anticipation of a strong end to 2024 and 2025, and in line with intended growth in Boyer’s business strategy.

Nick Diment commented, “I very much looking forward to being in on the ground floor of this next chapter in Boyer’s development. Only a few days in, I’m already impressed by the enthusiasm, depth of knowledge and synergies with clients.”

James Cogan commented, “I am delighted to be joining Boyer at this exciting time and to be part of Boyer’s continued growth.  I am looking forward to working alongside my new colleagues and exploring how Boyer can support new and existing clients.”

Nick is a member of the RTPI and has a MPhil in Environmental Planning, Land Use Planning and Management/Development from the University of Reading, while James, also an RTPI member, has an BSc in City and Regional Planning from Cardiff University and an MA in Urban Design from Newcastle University.

Boyer is part of the Leaders Romans Group (LRG), one of the UK’s largest property groups, providing estate agent, lettings, commercial development, and planning services. It has a network of offices across England, and the company’s services cover the full planning, urban design, and land consultancy spectrum: land and site promotion, development planning, environmental impact assessment, appeals, master planning, and architecture.
