Brighton and Worthing are set to benefit from fresh cultural investment that will strengthen local venues, improve access, and support community life.

In Brighton, Brighton Dome & Brighton Festival will receive £468,701 to modernise the concert hall’s systems.

The funding will improve accessibility and sustainability, while also enhancing the experience for audiences. It will help safeguard a major cultural hub that supports year-round events, opportunities for young people, and wider community engagement across Brighton & Hove and Sussex.

Worthing Borough Council will receive £371,278, helping to support local cultural provision and the spaces that bring people together. Alongside this, Surrey Libraries will benefit from £50,000, showing how the wider region is also gaining support for public access to culture, learning, and shared community spaces.

Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy said: “Across the country, people take real pride in where they come from. Our local arts, museums and libraries are a big part of that, telling our stories, reflecting who we are, and bringing communities together.”

Together, the funding in Brighton and Worthing will help keep important venues open, welcoming, and fit for the future, while ensuring more people can enjoy culture close to home.
