Carter Jonas has confirmed the sale of a plot of land at Bury, Cambridgeshire to a national housebuilder and social housing provider.

The plot, on the north-western side of Tunkers Lane in Bury, near Huntingdon, was sold on behalf of Abbey Developments Cambridge Ltd.

Following a competitive tender process, V10 Homes (a housing developer specialising in land and build projects for registered providers) and Stonewater (a leading social housing provider) were successful in acquiring the land.

The 8.09-acre site has detailed planning consent for the development of 87 homes, of which 40 per cent will be affordable housing.

The new community will also include public open spaces and landscaping, and access to the site will be considerably improved, including by widening Tunkers Lane.

Richard Combes, partner in Carter Jonas’ Cambridge office, said: “Carter Jonas was very pleased to assist with the disposal of the site to a registered social landlord. This will provide a minimum 40 per cent affordable housing, alongside homes for sale on the open market, and will substantially benefit housing needs within the community.”
