Rectory Homes and FirstPort Retirement Property Services have applied to build an extra care development of 66 units, with three guest rooms and a communal area at a site at Thame.

The joint applicants want to build on 2.94-hectares at part of The Elms in the centre of the town.

The planning application to South Oxfordshire District Council, is for nine one-bedroom units, 40 with two bedrooms and 17 with three.

The development includes new pedestrian/cycle links from Upper High Street to Elms Road and Elms Park and around 1.2 hectares of open space.

The scheme has been designed by Define and planned by Barton Willmore. Transport planner is Glanville.
