Fast grocery delivery business Getir has signed a five-year lease for a unit at SEGRO’s Slough Trading Estate.

Getir will employ around 10 people at the 2,500 sq ft unit located in Yeovil Road, which will be used as a local fulfilment centre.

Karthik Harith, head of expansion UK for Getir, said: “We are thrilled to be serving the Slough area and be at the heart of where our customers are.

“We deliver a wide range of groceries to a customer’s front door in approximately 10 minutes from when an order is placed on our app.

“This helps to save valuable time and all deliveries are made using ebikes and e-scooters, which means that local roads will likely see a drop in diesel and petrol car trips as we make our deliveries.”

James Craddock, managing director, Thames Valley, at SEGRO, said: “For over 100 years the Slough Trading Estate has been a home for a diverse mix of customers.

“The types of companies operating from here have evolved over the years as demands from consumers and businesses change. We’re pleased that Getir considers the Trading Estate as a great location to include in its UK expansion, and we’re confident it will provide a valuable new grocery delivery option for the people of Slough.”

Earlier this year, Getir signed a five-year lease for a 3,000 sq ft space at SEGRO Park, Acton to serve the West London market.
